FROSTBURG MUSEUM

Learn about the area's history by visiting this museum located in the historic Hill Street School Building, Frostburg, MD. Built in 1899; the last school in the area of a design that was fairly common at that time. The museum details the story of life in Frostburg and provides a wide variety of genealogical information. There is a replica of an entrance to a mine, with miner's equipment, and information about various coal companies. One room is devoted to Schools, with files on the classes from both Beall High and the College, composites of graduating classes, and Reunion follow-up. Their other artifact collections include: historic furnishings, personal artifacts, tools and equipment, printed ephemera, local history books, photographs, genealogical information, costumes and textiles.
