47th Annual Springs Folk Festival Now is the time to book your hotel or bed & breakfast reservations for the coming Springs Folk Festival, held in Springs, PA, Friday and Saturday, October 1 and 2. This major event is visited by over 20,000 folks! Many families combine a visit to the festival along with Fall foliage tours for their vacation. Everyone will enjoy the feeling of being a kid again as they sample homemade lollipops, funnel cakes and homemade ice cream. Pennsylvania Dutch sausage meals, pancakes and sausage, bean soup, homemade bread baked in an outdoor kiln, doughnuts fried as you watch - makes the merriment delectable! Watch women baking bread and weaving, men hewing logs and threshing grain while children enjoy an old-time hayride. Entertainment is provided by blue grass groups, gospel music and children singing a cappella as the program includes c o n t i n u o u s performances. The Mountain Anthems singing close harmony is always a thrill. A pageant will be presented both afternoons and a special performance will take place Friday evening at 7:30 pm., depicting life in the area in the 1800's and early 1900's. A newly renovated and expanded museum on the grounds boasts thousands of artifacts of the local area.You'll get all of this, plus the opportunity to walk through woods trails in the splendor of Fall colors. Be sure to visit the maple sugar camp along the way. The best of the best crafts people exhibit and offer their distinctive creations at the Springs Folk Festival. This makes for a truly one-of-a-kind shopping adventure. Over 140 juried artisans offer everything from paintings, baskets, wood-crafted furniture, quilts, dulcimers and much more. This year's celebration festival continues to celebrate the arts, skills and labors of our forefathers. All this for one price: $5 adults, $2 children 6-18; and under 6 free.
